Everyday Moms

HI :) I just moved to Windsor, and a mom of 7, 4 girls 3 boys. I was married for 21 years until recently. So now I am a single mom living in a new city..lol My girls came with me, they are ages 12,14,15,16, and my boys decided to stay with their dad. I miss them :( I am trying very hard to start a new life for my girls and I, but I will admit it is a little lonely not knowing anyone. I noticed there was a homeschool forum, I homeschooled all my kids until this year, so any info anyone would like to share I would love to help :) I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know other moms, and just helping where ever there is a need :) I would like to thank LaQuita for inviting me to this site :) Huge hugs to everyone!

Welcome to EDM, Rachel. You are amazing. Anyone who has home-schooled children is special, talk more of 7 of them?! I look forward to knowing you better.

Hey Rachel! Welcome to the site. It was so nice to get to chat with you for a bit at our mom chat session. And I compleltey agree with both these ladies, you are awesome, first of all to have seven kids and second to have homeschooled them, truly awseome. You should join the homeschooling moms here on this site, I'm sure they'd love any advice you could give them. Thanks for joining and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hi Rachel
I moved here many years ago from Pickering. At that point it was my fiance and I. Now we are married with 2 boys. I had a very hard time adjusting but I can't imagine doing that by myself with kids. I am sure you really miss your boys. I am very shy but I managed to get out to some local events and meet some people. There are some homeschooling groups here in WIndsor.
What made you choose Windsor?

Hello Everyone,
I can't thank you enough for the welcomes! I am truly touched by your kind remarks :) I don't feel all that amazing, but thank you just the same EVen though I am not homeschooling anymore, for sure I would love to join, so I will have to do that :) As for why I chose Windsor, I actually had hoped to stay in Winnipeg, but my ex was a very abusive man, and when we decided to seperate the abuse escalated to a level that was extremely scary. To assure you though my boys are fine and safe, as my ex's issues began and ended with woman.
Either way, I looked at a number of places that had jobs in my field ( I'm a Medical Lab Tech) but they was never places affordable to live, then I found places in Windsor, and thought why not. So we packed what few clothes we had, and drove here. I am glad we did. My girls feel so much safer.
I'm sorry for the novel...lol

Also sorry that I was not able to make it to the ladies night out, but my 3rd daughter Deanna, its her birthday tomorrow on the 31st, she will be 14...so we had some things do to get ready, but for sure I will make the next one :)
Thanks you again and I look forward to getting to know all of you :)

Happy Birthday Deanna! That is terrible what you and your girls had to go through but I am glad you had the courage to leave and that you are all safe now.

Happy Birthday Deanna! You are one lucky young lady, to have your mom guide you through your teenage years.
