Everyday Moms

Being new to any social network be a bit confusing. We want to help you through that. Here are some tips to help your time on Everydaymoms easy, relaxing and less hectic.

FRIEND REQUEST: Below a person's photo box, there is a Friend Request; simply click that and your request is sent.

FRIEND REQUEST ALERT: At the very top of the page, you'll see your Username, and also an Envelope and a little Person icon for the Friends' Request (an exclamation point next to the Person indicates a new request). Click to open and Accept or Decline.

SEND PRIVATE EMAIL: (that can only be read by the recipient)
Next to any member's photo is a "Send Message" link; you can also send emails o a friend or group of friends by selecting "My Friends" on the right side of your page.

PRIVATE EMAIL MESSAGE WAITING: At the very top of the page, you'll see your Username, and also an Envelope (an exclamation point next to the Envelope indicates a new request) and a little Person icon for the Friends' Request (an exclamation point indicates a new request). Click to open and Accept or Decline.

JOIN IN FORUM MESSAGE DISCUSSIONS: From the Menu Bar across the top. Click on FORUM to look at any of the discussion topics. Click on a topic of interest and join in on the current discussion. The Forum is open to everyone, so jump right in to existing conversations! These messages are public and can be ready by anyone.

START A NEW FORUM MESSAGE DISCUSSION :From the Menu Bar across the top. Click on FORUM -- Make sure to do a search to see if your topic already exists. Then, if none are Found, click on Start a New Discussion and begin!

JOIN A GROUP: From the Menu Bar across the top. Click on GROUP-- Search to find what Groups fit your search criteria (i.e. Kids w/ Special needs, Potty Training, Fitness, Home Schooling, etc.). Unless a Group is Private, you should be able to join it.

START A GROUP: From the Menu Bar across the top. Click on GROUP-- Search to see if your Group already exists. Then, if none are Found, click on Start a New Group and begin! You can set to Private or Public, but are ONLY given this choice when setting up your Group. Before starting a Group, you may want to familiarize yourself with how Groups work, by reading through some of the other established Groups.

PROFILE PAGE COMMENTS:
On your Page, in the Comment Wall section, you can both "COMMENT BACK" to a post someone leaves you or "ADD COMMENT" to the message. There's an IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE in which option you select. If you COMMENT BACK (a blue link at the bottom left of the Message someone left for you) your reply appears on THEIR PAGE, and they will receive a notification message someone has left them a message. If you "Add Comment" in the space above their post on your page, the Reply appears ONLY on your page and they may never know you replied to them. Check your page now and see if you have messages on your page that were intended to appear on someone else's page. All posts left as Comments are public and can be read by others.

Searching for Members. To find others who live in your area, go to the MEMBERS tab above and in the search box, list the state or city name. Remember, if you live in a major area, you may miss members by only keying in Detroit, Chicago, etc. (if a person lives in a smaller, surrounding town, they won't show up under that search). When searching by State, remember to try both full state name and also abbreviation such as "Michigan" "MI" and "Mich." The same applies for Canadian members. In the search “Canada,” will get you every Canada resident. If you want to get the people locally or in your surrounding area, “Windsor,” “Harrow,” and “Amherstburg,” works fine.
