AV: Why don't you start by telling our members a little more about yourself!

LU: Hi there, I'm Lu and I'm from Italy. I now live in warm Florida with my American husband and our 2 wonderful kids, Gabriel (5yo) and Michelle (3yo). I'm a mom full-time and in my spare time I run a business (Crocheted Little Things) that is allowing me to pay for my training as a Child Care Professional.

AV: What are your biggest influences in life?

LU: Well my parents sure were and now my kids :)

AV: What is your favorite thing about being a mother?

LU: See my kids smile, even better if the giggle. My favorite part of the day is when I tuck them in their bed to sleep while they whisper "I Lobe you Amore (honey in Italian!)

AV: What is it like being a WAHM?

LU: It's so much fun. Stressful sometimes, but I'm having lots of fun and have the opportunity to connect with amazing people (including the Everydaymoms members!)

AV: Why did you begin crocheting?

LU: Just to kill time during summer breaks. I learned from my mom when I was 9-10 years old.

AV: Tell us more about your business. What types of items do you make and where can we purchase them?

LU: Well right now I'm having fun making all things cupcakes: Christmas ornaments, spa items, little purses and jewelry.
I started selling generic items like slippers and blankets and then I "branded" myself on cupcakes.
My items are available in many places online:

http://piccoladonna2006.etsy.com

http://crochetedlittlething.etsy.com

http://Crochetedlittlethings.artfire.com

http://crochetedlittlethings.shophandmade.com

and just recently I got my own website http://crochetedlittlethings.com

AV: As the mother of a child with special needs, how do you handle it all? Any tips for other mothers out there?

LU: Just a word for you: COFFEE! Just kidding, I think it's good to be organized. Gabriel (my kid with special needs)
is in school during the morning so that's a good time for me to take care of errands out the house and chores in the household with my daughter: she's a little helper and is easily entertained. I'm also a really silly mom, kinda like a big kid: I don't walk, we march and imitate puppets, so my kids have the impression we're always playing. And I dedicate to them my afternoons: we play, color, watch a new movie, read, dance, laugh, etc! So by night time, they're done and the coffee frenzy starts so I can do my "online" chores. I'm also lucky that both of my kids like computer activities, so I use that sometimes when I need to crochet an order of the spot :)
Organize your time, taking your time to breath and have fun: it's my best advice.

AV: Our members have noticed your love for cupcakes, why cupcakes?

LU: Well, it actually started all by accident. A friend asked me to crochet some cupcakes for her and I listed them in my shop. They makes my kids giggle and I actually use them to teach colors and other stuff to Gabriel, really handy. They became a big hit in my shop and you know.....I just made lemonade out of lemons. I started making them in every colors and shape, the more I make, the more I sell. Obviously I love them for making me so popular and bringing a smile to everyone's face.

AV: What is up next for you? Any plans for the future?

LU: Now, we're in holiday season, so my only plan is to sell a lot and make it through with my hand still attached LOL More cupcakes items are in the process for sure, then I take one day at a time. I really wish to find a job in child care, my training is almost done.

AV: Any additional thoughts or advice?

LU: You guys rock! What other advice I can give to you???
For all the moms out there that struggle....open up and wash it out. You're not alone as you think ;)
